July Favorites


July was the month of trying out lots of new products for me as a result of redeeming a few gift cards I had laying around (trust me, years of blogging teaches you a thing or two about saving!) last month. I tested, loved and now recommend every. single. one.


1. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector / Champagne Pop 
The wonderful and amazing product of BECCA and Jaclyn Hill collab has won the heart of many around the nation. If you're looking for that perfect summer (or any season, really) glow, grab it before it's gone - it is a limited edition product. If you're into strobing, then this is your best friend! 


2. YSL Rouge Pur Couture  / Peche Cerra-Colla
Because who would I be if I didn't add yet another peach lip product to my ever growing collection of peach lip products? It's an easy to wear, my lips but better kind of peach with the classic YSL consistency and scent. 


3. Too Faced Love Flush / Baby Love
The main reason I added this TF blush to my make up stash is, obviously the packaging! But I am and also have been a huge fan of Too Faced and its beautifully packaged products for many years. I just knew that if they roll out a blush and label it long-lasting 16-hour blush, it had to be tried! Baby Love is a neutral, mauve-rose that gives the perfect flush to cheeks - especially great for easy going day-time looks. 




4. MAC Fix+ / Cucumber
Just a more refreshing version of the classic Fix+ we have all seen and tried. I always had a major love/hate relationship with the regular Fix+ and was recently in need of a setting spray as it's been challenging to keep my makeup in tact during the Southern California heat. It has been a must-have handbag item since picking it up earlier this month. A little spritz of it here and there helps to cool off on a hot day too. Unfortunately all four scents in the new Fix+ collection are limited edition.

5. NARS Lipstick / Barbarella
If you're looking for a subtle coral lipstick with a sheen, then look no further - Barbarella is it!

301 is probably the one the best contour brushes in the market right now. This rose gold beauty makes contouring a breeze, is super easy to handle during application and has the softest bristles. Real Techniques sisters have done it again!

Peach is almost like NARS Barbarella's long-lost matte and opaque twin. If I go for a lighter eye look, I naturally want more emphasis on lips and that's where Peach comes into play. You just can't go wrong with a peach lip during summer, complements a tan beautifully too!

Great medium-full coverage, blends flawlessly, semi-matte finish and photographs beautifully!
Orta-ful kapaticiligi olan, dagitimi kolay, yari-mat bitisli ve kusursuz fotograflanabilen bit fondoten!

I especially love mixing it with my moisturizer for when I want dewy skin. Besides that, I also reach for it quite a bit for nighttime makeup. The fact that it has SPF 25 makes me think I will frequent it regularly come hot Chicago summer.

A blush rediscovered in my recent stash shopping. Can't believe I ever forgot about this pretty little number. Deceivingly named, Mocha (?!?!) is actually a matte, coral-pink. Great color pay off, not too powdery, creates a beautiful sheen and lasts forever. 

Yakin gecmiste koleksiyonumda tesadufen karsima cikan Mocha'yi ben nasil olduysa unutmusum! Ismi niye Mocha bilinmez, kendisi aslinda mat, icinde mercan olan bir pembe. Kalicilik ve pigmentasyon bakimindan gayet basarili, yuze cok tatli ve dogal bir pembelik kazandiran bir allik.


My one and only rose gold blush, comes with the amazing Benefit quality as with other blushes. I sometimes apply it with a light hand as highlight, works great with bronze-ish blushes

Ilk ve tek pembe altin alligim, bazen hafifce aydinlatici olarak uyguladigim da oluyor. Bronz tonlardaki alliklarla cok guzel kombinlenebiliyor


Does wonders with just a couple dabs! It brightens, conceals and makes you look wide awake in seconds. I don't really have a problematic under eye area and I love the results. Can't even imagine what it would for someone who has. Will definitely repurchase over and over again!

Vacation Makeup Bag


I am so happy and grateful that I was able to start my new year with a vacation in Punta Cana. I have been wanting to return to blogging and thought what better way to return than NOW. So I am back with a post about what I packed in my makeup bag for my vacation. Thanks to everyone who stuck around through my hiatus, hope you're all having a wonderful year so far!

I have been known to be one of those women who takes nearly her entire makeup collection with her on her travels. This time, I REALLY promised myself that I would take just the essentials (and okay maybe just an extra tube of lipstick! :)) and I am so proud to report that this is really what I did. I was initially going to publish this post prior to leaving but decided to do it upon my return that way I could also share items that were unused/could have been left at home as well as products I wish I brought.

Because I traveled to a much warmer climate (think 82-85F) I saw no point in taking a foundation since I knew for sure I wouldn't be using it. I took a tinted moisturizer with SPF and used it everyday in the morning before heading to breakfast and then to the beach. That way I had some color PLUS protection.

Sicak bir yere (27-30C) gittigim ve dolayisiyla kullanmayacagimi bildigim icin fondoten goturme ihtiyacini duymadim. Bu yuzden her sabah kahvaltiya ve daha sonra plaja gitmeden yuzume hem biraz renk versin hemde cildimi korusun diye yanimda renkli nemlendiricimi goturmeyi tercih ettim.

I used all of the products mentioned above except for Ririwoo which I have been pretty obsessed with since purchasing it about a month ago. I thought red would be gorgeous with a nice tan which it is but I just never reached for it. The bag I used to carry all my makeup is by Muji. Click here to see it in a previous post. I am happy to say, during my week away from home, I never once said "I wish I brought x item". I think it's safe to say that I have finally mastered the art of packing light! Now if only I could apply the same to the clothes, shoes and accessories trio! :)

January Favorites


So we may be 8 days into February but that doesn't discourage me from finally returning to blogosphere with my January Favorites post. I sadly had to take some time off from blogging due to personal reasons. I am planning to resume regular blogging as of today. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for continuing to follow my blog through my hiatus as well as your messages, emails and comments on Instagram.

Recently purchased MAC Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit were reached for quite a bit. Whisper of Gilt is one of the most beautiful and flattering highlighters I have ever used. Hello glowy cheekbones! I mostly wear Gold Deposit as a blush or lightly dust a bit of it on top a blush that's in the same color family. NARS Lovejoy, nothing new there. It's one of my most loved blushes during fall and winter. I have finally got around to using the Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation last month. It's a great full-coverage foundation that I find to be lasting throughout the entire day without making my face look oily. I would have loved it even more if its consistency wasn't as thick, which makes blending a little troublesome.

Yuksek kapatici ozelligi olan, uygulandiktan birkac saat sonra yuzumu hemen yaglandirmayan, gun boyunca yuzumde kaliciligini koruyabilen bir fondoten. Yapisi biraz daha ince olup, dagitmayi kolaylastirsaydi dahada cok severdim.


Top 3 single eye shadows I have reached for the most were Le Metier de Beaute Corinthian, Chanel Vert Khaki and Golden Retriever by Prestige. Corinthian is a stunning taupe that should be in every taupe lover's collection! Vert Khaki is a olive green khaki and great for those who want to wear color during the day. Golden Retriever just may be the most pigmented gold I have ever seen. Using it over a gold base makes it pop even more!

En cok kullandigim 3 tekli farlar arasinda Le Metier de Beaute Corinthian, Chanel Vert Khaki ve de Prestige Golden Retriever vardi. Corinthian tum 'taupe' severlerin koleksiyonunda olmasi gereken bir renk. Vert Khaki piriltili, zeytin yesili. Golden Retriever'da bildigimiz altin rengi, sanirim pigmentasyonu bu kadar ileri derecede olan baska bir altin rengi far hayatimda gormedim.


Moving on to pots, of course! These little pots have become such must-haves for me. This month I have frequented the beautiful #28 (bronze gold with specks of purple) by Armani and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze (bronze/taupe) which is my absolute favorite of all the Color Tattoo shades. Lastly, I have showed love to the Walking on Eggshells trio by Wet n Wild. Its 3 shades are just so convenient for a no-fuss everyday eye makeup.

I used the heck out of my recenly acquired YSL Rouge Volupte #1 aka Beige Charnel. I was hesitant about this beaute at first because nudes and beiges just wash me out and make me look and feel like a ghost. But it's not the case with this one, at all. I am happy to finally find nudes like this that I can wear without fear. I have also been abusing my Wet n Wild 903C quite a bit. I think I am ready for summer! Lastly, and this is no news, I have Clarins Natural Lip Perfector 02. I wear to add a little shine to bare lips. It also looks beautiful over nude lipsticks.

En son olarakta Clarins'in 2 numarali Natural Lip Perfector'i benden nasibini aldi. Ruj kullanmak istemedigim gunlerde dudaklarimda biraz parlaklik olsun diye kullaniyorum. Nude rujlarin uzerinde durusunada bayiliyorum!


And then I have some miscellaneous items. I have recently finished a bottle of Seche Vite and decided that I will never purchase it again. I don't need to spend that much money on a top coat that causes my freshly painted nails to chip and peel in matter of minutes. Then I found out about this Out the Door top coat thanks to YouTube. Now, this is more up my alley! It adds a beautiful long-lasting shine to my nails without causing chipping or peeling.

Ve sirada yukaridaki kategorilerin hicbirine sigdiramadigim urunler var. Kisa bir sure once bitirdigim Seche Vite top coatu bir daha almamaya karar verdim. O kadar para verip, surdukten birkac dakika sonra ojemin soyulmasina tahammul edemiyorum artik. Sonra YouTube'da gezinirken bir videoda Out the Door isimli top coatu goren ben kendimi hemen sokaga attim. Iste budur arkadaslar! Seche Vite gibi parlatiyor ama onun tam aksine o kadar zahmet edip surulen ojeyi soymuyor hih!

Back in December I've been on a week long cruise to the Caribbean and prior to my trip I knew I wanted to get a mist of some sort to keep my hair hydrated, especially considering I'd be in the sea and under the sun all day for a week. While wandering around at Ulta, this Coconut Oil hydrating mist by Organix caught my eye. Because I didn't have a good experience with Organix hair products before, I was skeptical about this mist. A spritz later, I was sold :) It smells like a tropical vacation! Luckily it turned out to be a good spray. I sprayed it not only after towel drying my clean hair (like the back of the bottle suggests) but also randomly on the beach to keep it hydrated. Lastly a hand cream by L'occitane, Dry Skin Hand Cream. It's a great little hand cream that moisturizes chapped, dry, dehydrated hands pretty good. It has a much thicker consistency than my favorite L'occitane hand cream which is Pivoine Flora, which I can't complain about because it's exactly what I need for the dry, freezing Chicago winters.

October Favorites

I don't know about you but I'm having a hard time believing it's already November eeeek! I actually kinda look forward to the ends of months because that's when I blog about my favorites and read/watch other people's - these are some of my favorite types of posts/videos :) Without further ado, here are my October faves!

Sizi bilmiyorum ama Kasim ayinda oldugumuza inanmakta zorluk cekiyorum ben! Aslinda ay sonlarini abirsizlikla bekliyorum (biraz) cunku ay sonu demek favoriler postu demek, hem yazmayi hemde diger bloggerlarinkilerini okumayi cok seviyorum :) Lafi daha fazla uzatmadan, iste Ekim ayi favorilerim!


  The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Adore and Lip Butter in Red Velvet are new to my collection. Though it looks a little scary, Adore is an extremely wearable brick red. Red Velvet is a very rich, blue based, deep red which I find to be buildable. Onto some old faithfuls...First I have (yes, another Revlon product!) Carnation which is an opaque, medium, blue-based pink. Sure, it's not a typical lipstick shade for fall but I love it for fall anyway. MAC's pinky-beige Blankety also came out to play in October. It's been my most-reached-for nude lipstick all month. Lastly, I have MAC's Lovelorn which is a medium blue/pink. Due to its lustre finish it's semi-sheer thus making it more wearable.

Yeni oyuncaklarim Revlon Adore ve Red Velvet'a merhaba diyin. Adore paketinde koyu bir renk gibi gorunsede aslinda bildigimiz kiremit rengi. Red Velvet ise mavi alt tonlu koyu kirmizi. Eski favorilerimden ise yine bir Revlon ruju olan mavi alt tonlu pembe olan Carnation'a yeniden kavustum. Aslinda rengine bakilinca akla gelen mevsim yaz olan Carnation'i ben nedense sonbahar mevsimine cok yakistiriyorum. Son iki favorimde MAC'ten, Blankety ve Lovelorn. Lovelorn'un Lustre bitisinde olusunu ve dolayisiyla opak olmayisini seviyorum, gunluk kullanim icin super.

Fall was definitely on my cheeks in October with NARS Taj Mahal and NARS Lovejoy and theBalm Cabana Boy.

I have dug up two of my limited edition Wet n Wild palettes, Golden Goddess and Sugar Plum Fairy. Both palettes are perfect for fall! Of course, I couldn't conclude the eyeshadows part without a Burberry eyeshadow. Good news, I finally got over Pale Barley. I still do love it. I have, since, been obsessing over Midnight Brown. It's one of those rare colors you can wear on its own and it still looks beautiful.

Farlara goz atalim hemen. Wet n Wild'in gecen kis cikardigi ve limited edition olan Golden Goddess ve Sugar Plum Fairy altili paletleri epey kullandim. Tabii ki favorilerimde bir Burberry fari olmadan olmaz! Sonunda Pale Barley etkisinden kurtuldum. Simdide Midnight Brown'suz bir hayat dusunemez oldum. Isiltili koyu kahverengi ve icinde kucucuk rengarenk simleri olan, kendi basina bile sahane bir goz makyaji yaratabilen nadir farlardan biri bence.

I have reached for these pretties the most in October, it's pretty self-explanatory although I have to add that Nails Inc. Sloane Square is the easiest to remove nail polish I have ever experienced. I am not sure if this applies to all Nails Inc. glitter polishes as this was my first one.

Ekim ayi favori ojelerimde boyle, fazla soylenecek birsey yok. Ama sunu eklemeliyim ki, Nails Inc. in yukarida gordugunuz Sloane Square neredeyse tamamen simden olusan bu ojesi hayatimda gordugum cikarilmasi en kolay simli oje! Nails Inc.'in butun simli ojelerimi boyle acaba?!


Lastly, I have developed an enormous love for Bath and Body Works' new scent, Cashmere Glow. It has fall written all over it. The notes in this scent are vanilla, peach and musk. I personally don't pick up peach but vanilla and musk are definitely in it. I picked up the travel-sized trio in the cute packaging with gold bow 1. because I couldn't resist the bow and 2. because we're going on vacation next month, perfect! The individual one was free with a Bath and Body Works coupon.

Fall Faves // Nail Polishes


 
I have been very into fall nails lately and thought I'd share my favorite nail polishes that I have on rotation this fall with you all.

Son zamanlarda tirnaklarimdan sonbaharimsi ojeler eksik olmuyor, bu yuzden de su siralar sevdigim sonbahar ojelerimi sizlerle paylasmak istedim.

Sephora by O.P.I. On Stage, Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, O.P.I. Lincoln Park at Midnight

My absolutely must-have nail polish for fall has been OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight for years. I may be biased as I live in Chicago and this was part of the Chicago collection :) I just have a thing for blackened bases (especially purple!) with micro glitter which Lincoln Park at Midnight exactly is.

Olmazsa olmaz sonbahar ojem, vazgecilmezim, senelerdir OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight. Acababu Chicago'da yasadigim ve bu oje Chicago koleksiyonun bir uyesi oldugu icin olabilir mi? Ama yok, benim karartilmis oje bazlarina (ozellikle morlara!) ve icinde minnak mor pirilti olan ojelere karsi bir hayranligim var, bkz Lincoln Park at Midnight :)

Since adding it to my collection last year (after much scouring and stalking of local drugstores) Revlon's Facets of Fucshia has been an absolute favorite. It has a blackened purple base with big chunks of fucshia hexagonal and much smaller pieces of glitter. Now every beauty has its thorns. This beauty requires 3 coats to get it to be completely opaque. Removal of this nail polish is a very painful process. I think it's the hardest to remove nail polish I have ever encountered in my life. Its beauty justifies the cons though!

Revlon'un Facets of Fucshia'si aldigimdan beri cok severek kullandigim bir oje. Bazi karartilmis mor ve icinde irili ufakli sim dolu olan bu guzel ojenin uygulamasi biraz yorucu cunku opaklik icin 3 kat gerekiyor. Cikarmasi ise tam bir kabus! Hayatimda bu kadar zor cikan bir ojeye daha once rastlamadim. Ama guzelligi paha bicilmez, onun icinde katlaniyorum.

Next, I have On Stage by Sephora by O.P.I. I would describe it as a creamy, smokey mauve/purple. It definitely screams autumn in my opinion. It doesn't have any shimmer or glitter thus making it more wearable for any setting.

Butter London All Hail the Queen, Essence Date with the Night, Orly Rage, Zoya Ibiza

 Orly Rage is a metallic bronze/rose-gold with silver glitter that creates a foil-like effect on nails. I enjoy layering it with Sephora by OPI Traffic Stopper-Copper, my favorite combo this fall, so far!

For some reason I am not really drawn into nude polishes this fall but I do love my tried and trusted and gorgeous All Hail The Queen by Butter London. It has tiny multi-color micro glitter which aren't visible to the naked eye unless inspected closely.

One of my newest nail polishes, Essence Date with the Night quickly became a favorite for this fall. It's a metallic pewter which looks great alone or topped with Nails Inc. Sloane Square. Only problem I have with this nail polish is its application which is due to size of the brush.

I'm not really a blue nail polish person (I simply don't like the way shades of blue looks with my skin tone or hands) with the exception of Zoya Ibiza which is a shade of blue that nearly looks black. It's a shimmery, blackened navy.

Essie Leading Lady definitely screams Christmas in fact it's part of Essie's Winter 2012 collection but I am already rocking this beautiful red with red pieces of glitter. It's too prety not to!

Essie'nin 2012 Kis koleksiyonundan Leading Lady aslinda Noel ve kis diye bagirsada ben simdiden severek kullaniyorum, kisa kendimi alistiriyorum! Kirmizi bazli ve icinde kirmizi minik simleri olan Leading Lady'yi tum kirmizi severlere siddetle tavisye ediyorum!

My classic go-to simple no-fuss red is Flormar's #352. It's a very easy to wear reddish burgundy with no shimmer or glitter. I reach for this a lot when I simply don't know what to paint my nails with.

Up next is Zoya's Mata Hari, a shimmery dark red with gold sheen. I have wanted a shade like this for ages and finally after many failed attempts I have found it.

Sonuncu favorim ise Zoya'dan Mata Hari isimli simli ve tirnaklara suruldugunde uzerinde altinimsi bir etki yaratan koyu kirmizi bir oje. Ben cok uzun zaman bu rengi aradigim, hic ummadigim bir anda karsima cikti. Biraz hareketli ama abartisiz bir kirmizi arayanlara tavsiye edilir.

Finally we have Sephora by O.P.I.'s I'm With Brad which is a vampy dark brownish red with red shimmer.

Favorite Highlighters


Beauty blogger confession: I didn't own a single highlighter until I started reading beauty blogs/blogging! Shock horror! After seeing all the beautiful highlighter photos and swatches all over the blogosphere, I knew I had to get my hands on some. Needless to say I, since then, went from one extreme to another and converted into a highlighter addict.

Itiraf ediyorum, guzellik bloglarini okumaya baslayana ve bu blogu acana dek tek bir tane aydinlaticim dahi yoktu. Takip ettigim bloglarda baktim bir aydinlaticidir gidiyor, bende hemen birkac tane edineyim dedim. O zamandan beri adeta bir aydinlatici bagimlisina donustum.


Dior Amber Diamond

Who is surprised? Amber Diamond to me is the queen of all highlighters. It's a very versatile champagne-gold, shimmery highlighter that looks good with pretty much any kind of look. It leaves a nice, subtle light gold sheen on skin. Depending on the look, I also sweep it down the bridge of my nose, on brow bone and upper lip too.

Sasiran? Bana gore aydinlaticilarin kralicesi olan Amber Diamond ne tur makyaj yapilirsa yapilsin kesinlikle makyaj butunlestiren ve tamamlayan olmazsa olmaz urunlerimden biri. Ben butun renkleri karistirarak elmacik kemiklerimin ustune uyguluyorum. Ayrica makyaja gore icin burun kemiginin ve dudak ustune ayni zamanda kasin hemen altinada uyguladigimda oluyor.

theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer

Depending on your skin tone, this may either be a shimmery gold bronzer, a highlighter or both. I personally am not a fan of shimmery bronzers because I use them to contour my face and wouldn't want shimmer on those areas. For me Betty-Lou Manizer makes a perfect gold highlight. I especially love using it on tanned cheek bones during summer.

Guerlain Meteorites Perles - Teint Beige

In my swatches below Teint Beige looks like I swatched powdered sugar on my hand but that's only because these little shimmery balls contain the tiniest pieces of glitter which my camera just doesn't pick up. (That justifies my need of a new camera!) On my face, however, it's a very subtle sheen that can easily be worn during the day time. I especially love to pair the Meteorites with a matte blush to jazz it up a little!

MAC White Dusk

If you want a J-lo type of glow, then White Dusk is your best friend. It's the epitome of J-lo glow. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this is what her makeup artists use on her. Like the name suggests, it's is silver thus creating more of a cool look. It also works beautifully as under the brow highlighter.

Ilk bakista rengi biraz fazla bagiran beyazimsi gumus, hatta biraz da korkunc. Yuzde elmacik kemiklerine cool bir gorunum katmak icin ideal. Ayrica kas alti ve goz pinarini aydinlatmada birebir.

MAC Redhead

Redhead is a shimmery salmon that does a great job adding warmth to my face. It doesn't show up as intense as it looks in my swatches below but leaves a light coral sheen.

Piriltili somon renginde olan Redhead yuzume sicaklik katmakta oldukca basarili. Yuzumde swatchlarimdaki kadar yogun oldugunu soyleyemem. Benim tenimde daha cok acik mercan renginde bir parlaklik birakiyor.

MAC Crew

Crew is a light pinky coral that has very light shimmer, it almost looks matte. It translates on my skin as a very light baby pink. I also do use it as a blush sometimes.

Crew neredeyse mat olan ve tek acik pembe aydinlaticim. O yuzden yeri ayri benim icin ;) Cok acik bir tonda olmasina ragmen yuzumde allik olarak kullanabilecek kadar gorunuyor o yuzden bazen allik olarakta kullandigim oluyor.

September Favorites

Hey everyone!

I returned from vacation 2 weeks ago but thanks to post-vacation blues I had not been feeling up to updating my blog. Realizing how abandoned it looks today, I decided to revive it by sharing my much belated September favorites with you.

Tatilden 2 hafta once donmeme ragmen tatil sonrasi depresyonundan bir turlu cikip adeta terkedilmis blogumu guncelleyemedim. Bugun ne kadar cansiz oldugunu farkettigim blogumu Eylul ayi favorilerimle yeniden canlandirmaya karar verdim. 

Before leaving for vacation, I got pretty autumnal with my eye makeup. Some of my favorites were the namazing Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows, in Pomegranate Punk and Moss Green. Both are very pigmented, hence they look brand new...they will last me a very long time! I have also enjoyed Laura Mercier's metallic cream eye color in Burnished Copper. I will definitely be getting more of these! Purple is an all year round color for me, but this shade of purple is especially perfect for fall. It is double ended with a shadow on one side and a liner on the other. They are both pigmented and very easy to blend for a smoked out but subtle purple look.

Tatile gitmeden once goz makyajimda sonbahar renkleri kullanmaya coktan baslamistim bile. Favorilerim arasinda Maybelline Color Tattoo krem farlarinin Pomegranate Punk ve Moss Green'i vardi. Abartisiz, dumanli mor goz makyaji icin severek kullaniyorum.


A product I purchased shortly before my travels has been my most favorite in September. And that is the amazing Hourglass concealer in Natural. It highlights the undereye area beautifully without settling into little cracks and lasts for a good 6-7 hours. Before I went to Turkey, shade Natural barely showed up on my skin and could easily be used on other parts of my face. These days, I can only use it as highlight under eyes (I got much more tanned than I ever thought I would in September) but I'm not complaining! Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation's light texture made it perfect for use in warmer temperatures of Istanbul and Bodrum. It's a great everyday, light coverage foundation that has a dewy finish. Burberry Sheer Foundation has been my go to setting powder since purchasing it last month. It lasts for hours on my normal skin without budging and provides a flawless, velvety finish.

Turkiye'ye gitmeden hemen once satin aldigim Hourglass kapatici (Natural tonu) Eylul ayi favorilerim icinde en sevdigim urundu. Bu urunu almamin nedeni goz altlarimi aydinlatmakti. Aydinlatmakta ustune yok diyebilirim ki herkes YSL Touche Eclat'i ne kadar sevdigimi bilir, uzgunum Touche. Goz altinda bir yerde birikmeyisi ve yaklasik 6-7 saat kaliciligini korumasi bu urunu benim gozumde muhtesem kiliyor. Turkiye'ye gitmeden once Natural goz altlarimda pek gorunmuyor hatta normal kapatici olarak yuzumun herhangi bir yerinde kullanilabiliyordu. Ben nereden bileyim Eylul ayinda Bodrum'da bu kadar yanabilecegimi!!! :) Su siralar ancak goz alti kapaticisi ve aydinlaticisi olarak kullanabiliyorum, ama sikayetcide degilim. Bourjois'nin Healthy Mix fondoteninin hafif yapisi sicak havalarda cok isime yaradi. Kapatici ozelligi orta derecede olsada yaz icin guzel bir fondoten. Burberry Sheer fondotenimide sabitleyici olarak bayagi bir kullandim, cizgileri yavas yavas yok olmaya basladi bile!


Two favorites from L'occitane; Almond Supple Skin Oil and Pivoine Flora hand cream. The almond oil makes a perfect post-sunbathing treat for the dehydrated skin. I used it everyday after sun exposure to hydrate my skin. I actually didn't even need to use lotion thanks to this oil. It has a very pleasant scent that lingers on skin for a couple of hours, which I love! The hand cream came in super handy during a 10+ hour flight. It may just be the most hydrating hand cream ever, without being greasy. It melts into my skin, leaving a very light peony scent behind.

Favorilerim arasinda iki L'occitane urunude vardi bu ay. Ilki Almond Supple vucut yagi, digeri ise Pivoine Flora el kremi. Vucut yagi, yanmis ve dolayisiyla nemlendirilmeye ihtiyaci olan cilt icin gercekten mukemmel bir urun. Tatilde butu gunu yanarak gecirdikten sonra, dus sonrasi krem yerine hep bu yagi kullandim. Birkac saat ciltte kalan cok hos bir kokusu var. 10 kusur saatlik ucak yolculuklarinda olmazsa olmazlarimin arasinda el kremi gelir. Fakat ben Pivoine Flora'ya rastlayana kadar gercekten nemlendiren ve vicik vicik olmayan bir el kremi bulamamistim. Siddetle tavsiye ediyorum, ozellikle kis aylarinda cok isime yarayacak!

I randomly walked into a drugstore in Istanbul and saw a huge Essence display with products I have never seen on an Essence display at Ulta. (I wanted to buy everything!) This nude lipgloss caught my attention because...I mean look at the color! It quickly became a favorite. It's much more pigmented than I thought a $2 lipgloss would be. I think this is the nudest lip gloss I have ever seen, even more nude than MAC's Underage. The shade is called Nude Candy. Revlon's Fabulous Fig made its return in September as well. I have not used it since last fall and even then you can see that I haven't used it a whole lot. I personally like to just dab it on to get just a bit of festive dark red on my lips.

Gratis ziyaretlerimden birinde gorudugum kocaman Essence standi beni benden aldi diyebilirim. Ama dikkatimi ceken urunlerin basinda Nude Candy isimli bu seker lipgloss vardi. Evet sadece rengi icin aldim, pismanda degilim. Hayatimda gordugum en nude gloss sanirim, yani MAC'in Underage'indende nude, oyle soyleyeyim. Eylul ayi beraberinde Revlon'un cok sevdigim (ama cesaret edipte ciddi anlamda kullanamadigim) Fabulous Fig'i de beraberinde getirdi. En son gecen sonbaharda kullandigim bu guzelim koyu kirmizi ruju ben ancak dudaklarima hafifce surerek kullanabiliyorum. Insallah bu sene korkmadan kullanacagim bu rengi :)

What's in my travel makeup bag...

The time has come for me to travel to faraway lands again. I vow to travel light this time. To do that I went ahead and purchased the Muji travel cosmetics bag that I have seen on the lovely Lil Lady's Life blog last year.

Uzak diyarlara gitme zamanim yine geldi. Bu sefer valizimi ivir zivirla doldurmamaya and ictim. Onun icinde gecen sene Lil Lady's Life blogunda gordugum Muji seyahat kozmetik cantasini satin aldim. 




This structured bag is generous in size and will still fit more products than necessary. But it is much smaller compared to bags I have used in the past. I prefer to bring my makeup bag on board with me to avoid anything happening to my makeup. (We all know how airport people throw suitcases, I just couldn't...) And this Muji bag leaves enough space in my must-have-travel-bag Longchamp Le Pliage for other essentials.

Foundation: Since I will become tanner, I am taking a foundation that I have used on my darker days and know how it works in warm weather. And that is Bourjois Healthy Mix in #55. The fact that it has a light texture makes it perfect for this trip. I am also taking my Garnier BB cream because it's very moisturizing and my skin sometimes dries while trying to adjust to a new climate.

Fondoten: Bronzlasacagim icin yanima normal ten rengimden daha koyu bir fondoten aliyorum. O da Bourjois Healthy Mix #55. Yapisi hafif oldugu icin sicak havalar icin ideal. Ayrica son zamanlarda cok severek kullandigim Garnier BB kremimde benimle geliyor. Bazen cildim iklim farkina hemen ayak uyduramiyor ve kuruyabiliyor bu BB kremin nemlendirici ozelligi oldugu icin uygun oldugunu dusundum.

Powder: I've been so happy with my Burberry Sheer Foundation so I thought why not bring it along. It does come in bulky packaging but since I have compromised in other areas I don't feel so bad carrying it.

Pudra: Burberry Sheer Foundation pudramdan cok memnunum. Evet kutusu biraz iri ve fazla yer tutacak ama diger alanlarda odun verdigim icin geliyor benimle.

Bronzer: One of my all time favorites, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. I have been wanting to at least hit pan on it because I had it for way too long. Hopefully using only this bronzer will make a small dent in it while I'm away.

Bronzlastirici: Tum zamanlarin en sevdigim bronzlastiricisi Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. O kadar uzun zaman once aldim ki, en azindan birazda olsa dibini gormek istedigim icin benimle gelecek olan tek bronzer.

Blush: I am only taking 2 blushes, one peach & one pink - MAC Peaches & Benefit Bella Bamba.

Allik: 1 pembe, 1 seftali yeter diye dusunup sadece 2 allik aliyorum, onlarda MAC Peaches ve Benefit Bella Bamba.

Highlighter: of choice is none other than Dior Amber Diamond. 2 reasons for that, yes it's my favorite highlighter ever but also it doubles up as a mirror which for me is a must-have.

Aydinlatici: Vazgecilmezim Dior Amber Diamond. Hem kompakt hemde aynali olusu kendisini seyahat icin uygun kiliyor. Her cantaya bir ayna lazim sonucta!

Concealer: I chose MAC studio finish concealer for spots that may be randomly appearing on my face.

Kapatici: Olurda yuzumde aniden sivilce ya da baska bir saheser cikarsa diye yanima MAC studio finish kapaticimida aliyorum.


I purchased a small Z palette which fits 9 MAC eyeshadows or 5 MAC eyeshadows and a MAC blush. I think the latter just makes perfect sense!

Icine 9 MAC far ya da 5 far + 1 allik sigabilen kucuk Z paletlerden edindim birde.

Eyeshadows: I have picked out mainly MAC eyeshadows (the ones in the Z palette are all MAC) both because I love them and they take nearly no space. Colors are Phloof!, Wedge, Woodwinked, Mythology, Twinks. Burberry Pale Barley and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze made the cut as well. For base, I have MAC paint pot in Nubile.

Farlar: Yine cogunlukla MAC'ten hem cok sevdigim icin hemde kutularinda olmadiklari ve neredeyse hic yer tutmayacaklari icin. Sectigim renkler: Phloof!, Wedge, Woodwinked, Mythology ve Twinks. Ayrica son zamanlarda resmen bagimli oldugum Burberry Pale Barley ve Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze'da cantamda. Baz olarakta vazgecilmezim olan Nubile paint pot.

Eyeliner: I like a good smudged eyeliner during summer and I have just the perfect eyeliner for that. The Sue Devitt eye intensifier pencil in Kenya. For variety I'm taking my Korres black pencil eyeliner too.

Goz Kalemi: Yazin dagitilmis kalemi seviyorum ben. Onun icinde Sue Devitt Kenya rengindeki eye intensifier kalemim ideal. Ayrica ne olur ne olmaz diye birde siyah kalem aliyorum, o da Korres'den.

Mascara: is of course a must-have. I don't wear any makeup to the beach so I won't be needing a waterproof one. I'm just taking my good ol' L'oreal Voluminous.

Maskara: Plaja giderken makyaj yapmak hic adetim olmadigindan waterproof maskara almak icin sebep gormedim. Sadece en cok sevdigim ve yillardir kullandigim L'oreal Voluminous. 


Lipsticks: I decided to go for some trusted all time favorites.  Lipsticks I chose are Revlon Lip butter in sweetheart and MAC Hue. For a peachier lip, I will be taking Revlon Kissable Lip Stain in Charm.

Rujlar: Gelelim rujlara...onlarin sayisinida ikiye indirmeyi basardim. MAC Hue ve Revlon Sweetheart lip butter'in yeterli olacagini dusunuyorum. Rujla balm karisimi olan Revlon Charm'imda bizimle.

Lipglosses etc.: Again I'm only taking 2 and they are YSL Gloss Pur #2 and Clarins Natural Lip Perfector #2. Of course my EOS lip balm is coming with me too!

Parlaticilar: Ne hikmetse hep ikilerden gitmisim...2 tanede lipgloss! Onlarda YSL Gloss Pur #2 ve Clarins natural lip perfector #2 (Renklerin isimlerinde dahi 2 var!) Tabii ki EOS lip balmimda benimle geliyor!

For brushes, I am using the pretty brushroll the lovely Bubblegarm has gifted me. I love how perfect this brushroll is, it fits all my essentials and it happened to fit perfectly in this Muji bag!

Fircalarim icin sevgili Bubblegarm'in bana hediye ettigi firca cantasini kullaniyorum. Ihtiyacim olan butun fircalarimi icine sigdirabiliyorum ayrica bu Muji cantanin icinede sanki bu canta icin yapilmis gibi sigiverdi :)

August Favorites

August was a month full of rediscoveries for me. I'm surprised I forgot I even owned some of these beauties!

Agustos ayi yeniden kesiflerle dolu bi ay oldu benim icin. Ben bu guzellikleri nasil unutmusum ki!

Without a doubt Wet n Wild makes some of my most favorite drugstore eyeshadows, ever since they rolled out their Color Icon line. Their buttery textures and ease of use make them just irresistible! Some of the colors in the 6 shade palettes don't have as much pigmentation as the others but I guess that's not a bad thing for those who prefer a sheer wash of color. Some favorites this month have been the single in Nutty, a gorgeous taupey brown, Silent Treatment trip and the limited edition Sugarplum Fairy with beautiful shades of purple. I have also enjoyed my often forgotten but nonetheless beautiful MAC paint pot in Coral Crepe.

Hic suphesiz, Wet n Wild farlari favori drugstore farlarim ozellikle Color Icon koleksiyonunu cikardiklarindan beri. Bu ay ki favorilerim arasinda, tekli far Nutty, Silent Treatment uclusu ve sinirli sayida uretilmis olan ve icinde morun cok guzel tonlari olan 6li Sugarplum Fairy. Cogunlukla sahip oldugumu bile unuttugum MAC Coral Crepe paint potimda favorilerim arasindaydi.

I had a good mix of cheek products this month. For pink/coral cheeks, I have opted for NARS Torrid. For peachy and orangey cheeks I have reached quite a bit for Milani Rose D'oro and NYX Cinnamon. Favorite cheek highlighter of the month award went to the stunning Redhead MSF. I have been into bronze cheeks as well this month and for that I have utilized my theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer.

As usual my top lipstick picks for August have been from Revlon and MAC. Revlon's Colorburst lip butter in Sweetheart and lipstick in Carnation are perfect for summer. I have also rediscovered two unloved MAC lipsticks, Ever Hip and Ravishing. As you may already know, I am not much a lipgloss wearer but MAC's Undersage lipglass got quite a bit of use from me this month as well.

Ruj favorilerim cogunlukla oldugu gibi yine MAC ve Revlon'dan. Revlon'un Sweetheart Colorburst lip butteri ve Carnation isimli fusya ruju ozellikle yaz aylari icin vazgecilmezlerim. Biliyorum Revlon Turkiye'de MALESEF (duy bizi Revlon!!!!) hala bilinmez ve anlasilmaz nedenlerden dolayi yok bende nispet yapar gibi gosteriyorum burada. MAC'ten uzun zamandir kullanmadigim Ever Hip ve Ravishing rujlarini bu ay sonunda kullandim. Deli gibi lipgloss kullananlardan kesinlikle degilim ama bu ay MAC Underage'i bayagi bi kullandim, sevdigim nadir lipglosslardan.

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream


Without a doubt BB creams took the Western world by storm this summer. Although I have never used the Asian BB creams (which are the real deal!) my extensive research has lead me to believe that this Garnier BB cream is actually not a BB cream as it's lacking the qualities of one. I have learned that, real BB creams have some kind of a concealing feature, higher SPF, anti-aging benefits and can easily be used by those with acne-prone or oily skin. Okay so what we all thought was a BB cream is actually not, but I love it regardless!

Bu yaza en buyuk damgayi vuran urunlerin BB kremler oldugu tartisilmaz. Daha once gercek bir BB krem kullanmis olmasamda hepimizin bildigi uzere, Amerika'da uretilen ve BB krem adi verilen bu urunlerin aslinda gercek BB kremlerle uzaktan yakindan hic bir alakasi yoktur. Yapmis oldugum arastirmalara gore, BB kremlerin kapatici ozelligi, SPF'in daha yuksek oldugu, yaslanmya ve kirisikliklara karsi etkili ve ayni zamanda yagli ciltler icinde uygun oldugunu ogrendim. Evet bu bir BB krem degil, ama seviyorum ne yapalim!


 
 Garnier BB cream with SPF 15 comes in 3 shades, Fair, Medium/Deep and Dark. I currently wear MAC NC35-37 and find Medium/Deep to match perfectly with my complexion. According to the packaging, the BB cream instantly:

I am not completely sure it actually renews but I can assure you that it definitely brightens up my face, evens skin tone for the most part and is very hydrating. It is not a full coverage product by any means. In fact when I apply it, pretty much all my facial imperfections are visible to the naked eye. I would place this BB cream between a light coverage foundation and a tinted moisturizer leaning more towards the latter. The finish it gives off is very reminiscent of a tinted moisturizer as it's more of a dewy glow. Its creamy consistency and texture is very easy to blend though not buildable. There is a floral scent to it (which I actually find pleasant) that dissipates within about 5 minutes of application.

Ciltte fresh bir parlaklik yaratan ve dogal duran bitisi bana renkli nemlendiricileri animsatiyor. Kremsi yapisi sayesinde kullanimi ve yaymasi cok kolay. Hosuma giden hafif cicegimsi kokusu uyguladiktan yaklasik 5 dakika sonra kayboluyor. 


Since it is a moisturizing product, I would not recommend it for those with combination and/or oily skin. My skin type is normal and I absolutely love the way it looks and feels on my face. Because it doesn't cover much, I use a concealer with it. I can also easily wear it alone without having to set it with a powder. Of course, setting helps extend its longevity. With a powder, it lasts anywhere from 7 to 8 hours. Without a powder, you get a dewy finish that lasts about 5 hours before you begin seeing shiny spots on face. In the below photos, on top I am wearing the BB cream alone and bottom photos show how it looks with concealer, setting powder, bronze and blush.

Nemlendirici bir urun oldugu icin karisik ve yagli ciltli olanlara onermiyorum bu BB kremi. Kapatici ozelligi olmadigi icin benim icin kapatici sart. Pudrayla sabitlemedende kullandigim oluyor. Tabiki sabitlemek ciltteki omrunu uzatiyor. Pudrasiz, ciltte yaglanma baslamadan yaklasik 5 saat idare edebiliyor. Pudrayla ise 7-8 saat gidebiliyor. Asagida, ustteki fotolarda sadece BB krem alttakilerde ise kapatici, pudra, bronzer ve allik uyguladim.

Overall, it's a winner in my book. It's ideal for everyday wear and for me it's one of those "my skin but better" type of products. I find it to come very handy on those days I am not in the mood to wear a full face of makeup but don't want a bare face either. It has also been fantastic to use during the scorching hot Chicago summer thanks to its very lightweight formula. You can easily find this BB cream at most drugstores nationwide as well as Ulta for $12.99 for a 2.8oz tube. 

Sonuc olarak benim icin basarili bir urun. Hafif yapisi sayesinde gunluk kullanim icin ozellikle sicak yaz aylarinda ideal. Cok makyaj yapmak istemedigim ama makyajsizda disari cikmak istemedigim gunlerde favori urunum. Amerika capinda Ulta'da dahil olmak uzere neredeyse tum drugstorelardan $12.99'a temin edebilirsiniz.
