Paint pot craze continues! Today I present you the latest paint pot addition to my stash. Constructivist never caught my attention until it started to pop up on a few blogs I follow. On one of my many unplanned MAC trips, I decided it was time to finally swatch it and it was love thereafter. So here it is!
Constructivist is a beautiful metallic coppery/brown taupe and has a frost finish. MAC describes it as "metallic brown with red pearl". It has a creamy consistency like most paint pots and has minimal shimmer. On my skin (my current color is around NC30) it looks more taupe-like than brown. Swatches taken in natural sunlight (left photo below) fit MAC's description of this color . However, when applied on my lid, it looks more like the color on my swatches taken without flash (right photo below).

I've only applied Constructivist on my bare lid in the photo above, that way you can see the true color. Then I have quickly blended out the color upward a bit. I finished off the look with a black gel liner and mascara. In my opinion, Constructivist can easily be worn alone. This is great news for people who want some color on their lids but a) are in a hurry b) don't like wearing a lot of eye makeup c) want some color on their lids but nothing over the top. Constructivist, like most paint pots, also makes a great base to layer under eye shadows, especially when you want the colors to pop. Besides wearing it on its own, I have also been enjoying using Constructivist as a base under MAC Satin Taupe - they complement each other beautifully. I also really like using MAC Quarry on crease with just Constructivist on the lids. Wear time for paint pots is debatable. I love that they last all day on my lids but there are people who experience creasing in a matter of few hours after application.
What do you think of Constructivist? Do you use Paint Pots? Do recommend other paint pot shades, could be another brand too - I need more!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend
