MAC Constructivist Paint Pot

Paint pot craze continues! Today I present you the latest paint pot addition to my stash. Constructivist never caught my attention until it started to pop up on a few blogs I follow. On one of my many unplanned MAC trips, I decided it was time to finally swatch it and it was love thereafter. So here it is!

Constructivist is a beautiful metallic coppery/brown taupe and has a frost finish. MAC describes it as "metallic brown with red pearl". It has a creamy consistency like most paint pots and has minimal shimmer. On my skin (my current color is around NC30) it looks more taupe-like than brown. Swatches taken in natural sunlight (left photo below) fit MAC's description of this color . However, when applied on my lid, it looks more like the color on my swatches taken without flash (right photo below).

I've only applied Constructivist on my bare lid in the photo above, that way you can see the true color. Then I have quickly blended out the color upward a bit. I finished off the look with a black gel liner and mascara. In my opinion, Constructivist can easily be worn alone. This is great news for people who want some color on their lids but a) are in a hurry b) don't like wearing a lot of eye makeup c) want some color on their lids but nothing over the top. Constructivist, like most paint pots, also makes a great base to layer under eye shadows, especially when you want the colors to pop. Besides wearing it on its own, I have also been enjoying using Constructivist as a base under MAC Satin Taupe - they complement each other beautifully. I also really like using MAC Quarry on crease with just Constructivist on the lids. Wear time for paint pots is debatable. I love that they last all day on my lids but there are people who experience creasing in a matter of few hours after application.

What do you think of Constructivist? Do you use Paint Pots? Do recommend other paint pot shades, could be another brand too - I need more!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend

Posh Paradise Paint Pots = Love

In the past couple of months I have developed an unhealthy obsession for MAC paint pots. I think the main reason I am this amazed by them is due to the fact that they last all day without a single sign of creasing! They are soo easy to use, ideal for effortless yet pretty looks on days anything including makeup application is a drag, we all have those lazy days! Did I mention I love the color selection??

The second I found out MAC was releasing yet another collection, Posh Paradise, I immediately hopped onto my computer and googled away for swatches. I knew right then and there that Imaginary and Genuine Treasure were made with me in MAC's mind.

Check out how gorgeous these little treasures are...

Genuine Treasure is the more wearable of the two, though that depends on how brave you're with your make up. Some people just prefer a more neutral look for the daytime, nothing wrong with that. I would totally wear Imaginary during the day as well. According to MAC's description Genuine Treasure is an antiqued gold, with light brown reflects. Genuine Treasure is glitter but nothing of chunky or gritty nature. Imaginary is a blackened dark blue/navy. Just like any other paint pot, these two set right away and last all day! Texture is very creamy for both. They are easily wearable alone. In fact, I've been resorting to Genuine Treasure quite a bit lately with only black gel liner and mascara.

I have used Imaginary as a base for a smokey eye using Hocus Pocus and some Print. I think it makes an amazing base for smokey looks. I know, now you're wondering 'where is the proof??'. Well, I don't have any photos because as usual I was in a hurry and taking photos didn't even cross my mind! Hopefully I will create a look using at least one and photographing it, some day!

Have you picked up anything from Posh Paradise?
