July Favorites

Happy August everyone! I'm a bit late with my July favorites post as I've caught this annoying cold, in the middle of summer. But I do feel a bit better today, so here I am with my favorites post :)

This month I reconnected with a few old favorites. I did a little shopping in my stash and glad that I rediscovered some great products I haven't shown any love to in a long time.

Most used blushes award goes to NARS Taj Mahal and Benefit Coralista. I haven't really used neither one for a good couple of months! I seem to associate Taj Mahal with Thanksgiving or fall in general because of its pumpkin-like color but it actually makes a perfect summer blush.

Two products I have rediscovered; Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Kenya and MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection. What on earth was I thinking when I stopped using these two products? I haven't used Kenya in years, not even kidding. I love everything about this pencil; it does something magical to my brown eyes, they look so sparkly whenever I wear it! I love that it comes with a smudger, I wear it smudged on both upper and lower lash-line for an effortless look. This pencil surprisingly does not even budge a bit. Vintage Selection was totally forgotten about since I picked it up earlier this year. I love wearing it as a base under the "Eyelid" color from Wet n Wild's Walking on Eggshells trio or even alone in those too-lazy-to-do-my-make-up kind of days.

My now melting Shy Girl lipstick and Rimmel's Pink Chic were really the only two lipsticks that got love from me last month. July wasn't such a lipstick kind of month. I have something against wearing lipstick in hot and humid weather, I guess.

L-R China Glaze Pink Voltage, OPI Glitzerland, OPI Sparkle-icious
For the most part, I have done some kind of a combination of these nail polishes in July. I cannot get enough of them, they're all gorgeous!

....and here are some miscellaneous products. I have picked up this heaven-sent Ulta bronzer mitt at the end of June and I can never be without it again. No more faux-tanned palms! Vaseline Cocoa Butter gel body oil is amazing if you want a little glow on your legs while sporting leg-baring outfits. A little goes a very long way with this oil. It also lasts forever; I have worn it while going out on a few occasions and it seemed to last all night! This little Redken shine spray was actually a sample from the July Birchbox. I didn't really think I would end up enjoying it so much but I do. I spray it all over my hair after styling with curling/flat iron. It gives an incredibly healthy shine to my hair without looking greasy. It also seems to keep my hair frizz-free!

Hope everyone's having a great week! ♥

  6. I have to get that Vaseline gel body oil. I've been looking for something to give my legs a nice shine when I go out. Jergens used to have a shimmer body lotion but i think it has been discontinued since I can never seem to find it anymore. Great post!

  8. Thanks Becky! I think I know where you're coming from, I've put it off for a while as well. It looked pretty on others but I just wasn't so sure about buying a blush this orange...now I love it, it's gorgeous :)

  12. I never even knew about that Jergens lotion, I love shimmery lotions :) I love this body oil the only thing is that it can be easily over applied. The first time I used it, I've totally over done it and had to blot some off :) Hope you like it!

  14. Hi!

I've been following your blog for a while but I hardly comment, sorry! I just want to say I'm a big fan of your blog, post style, and pictures (so clear and big!).

Thanks for sharing your July favorites. I love your manicure with China Glaze pink voltage. I'll have to keep the Redken Shine spray in mind, you make it sound so great. :)

  19. Great faves! I've been using that Redken spray as well from my Birchbox. But I was so bummed I didn't get a sample of the Nuxe oil in my Birchbox I wound up ordering it. Kind of regretting it because it is strongly scented and you've found that widely-available Vaseline alternative! Also wanted the Nuxe oil for the posh bottle but it got ruined by the letters coming off so quickly... see, this is why I read beauty blogs! I'm so much better off taking recommendations from bloggers!

I've been loving Coralista, Glitzerland, and the Redken sample spray too! Does the Vaseline gel have shimmer in it? I'm trying to find a nice glow that doesn't make me look like I have disco ball legs.

  21. Great favourites! NARS Taj Mahal will always be my favourite blush. :)

  22. You've been neglecting Coralista because of Bella Bamba!!! lol

  23. uh oh. I think I need that Bronzing mitt right this second! Love Shy Girl, I think it's my number one MAC lipstick. I'm not much of a lipstick girl lately either though! And I will be purchasing the Walking on Eggshells trio..oh and don't even get me started on Shocking Pink :) That's the best summer pink imo! Looks fab on you with the gold glitter nail, love that combo!

  27. Hi Kalmo, thanks so much! It's great to know there are people like you that read my blog even if you don't comment :) I heard from others that they aren't really liking their Redken Shine spray. Some said it smells bad, mine has an almost citrus-y scent and I really like the shine it adds to my hair :)

  28. It looks absolutely stunning with a tan, I know what you mean :) I think it's a pretty universal shade, I can imagine it looking gorgeous with every skin tone :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. It really is, stands out beautifully against a tan :)

  30. Thanks Sarah! I have yet to use the Nuxe oil sample, sorry you don't like it :/ But I am definitely loving the Vaseline one and totally recommend it. Just a warning, it can be easily over applied. First time I applied it on my legs, I have gone a little too overboard with it lol I know what you mean, I hardly ever buy anything without searching my favorite blogs first, saves a lot of money! :)

  31. Omg what a coincidence! *high five* Vaseline gel doesn't have any shimmer in it, just leaves skin looking glowy no worries you will not have disco ball legs. Just use it sparingly! :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks girl! It's definitely among my favorites I can't believe I haven't used it for months though lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. Bahahah you are absolutely right my dear! I love Bella Bamba, omg let me go use some right now! :D

  34. Makes application so much easier and so much less messier :) I don't even know what else to say, we're twins...AGAIN! :D

  35. I had contemplated getting a few and was gonna totally skip on the whole collection but something just told me to get this one, I'm glad I did. If you can find it at a CCO or swaps definitely recommend it. It's really versatile :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. You definitely can't go wrong with this trio right?? :) Pink Voltage is the perfect summer pink, looks amazing on toes as well :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. It really is, I have no idea why I waited so long to even search for one :)

  38. P.S. I also found MsJenFabulous off your blog so thank you.

If you still like Julep nails btw, you should think about their Julep Maven (subscription service). I did a post about it here if you're interested (great promo code for a discount):
