Finished Up / July

This month's theme was body scrubs, I went through these like nobody's business! Well I guess when you're self-tanning, body scrubs are your best friend. Because I am slapping on faux tanners like crazy (since I am not going anywhere yet and I still want that I-just-got-back-from-some-exotic-place kind of tan) I need to exfoliate my skin in between applications to get the best tan I can. Plus I really enjoy that super clean feeling you get after exfoliating, anybody feel me?

Lush Ocean Salt
The sole reason I ever bought Ocean Salt was because of the hype. I just don't see what most Ocean Salt users see. It's just a scrub. The only super cool thing about it is that you can supposedly use it even after shaving. It has such an abrasive texture and smells like some kind of an alcoholic beverage with lime - I wouldn't ever get it next to my freshly shaved skin to be honest. I don't think it's so extraordinary for me to shell out $$$ on it again.

DANI Sugar Scrub
I picked up this scrub a while back because it was made with organic ingredients. It has such a gentle sugary texture and feels great on skin. I think the sugar particles could be less refined and coarser. I do like it and would purchase if it was more widely available and came with a not-so-hefty price tag. I do like the fact that it's made with organic goods though!

H2O Vanilla Body Scrub
It's kind of heartbreaking that H2O discontinued this amazing scent a while ago. I was just fortunate to have spotted at one of my routine Ulta trips. It has such an amazing scent which isn't really vanilla-y at all but more like a mixture of milky vanilla and amber and maybe a hint musk. Texture-wise it's what I wanted the DANI sugar scrub to be. It was coarser yet gentle and did a fantastic job exfoliating!

 EOS Shave Cream

This amazing EOS shaving cream is the best I have ever used. I have actually stopped using shaving creams because I was sick of wasting money on shaving creams/gels that don't do anything. Instead I had been using hair conditioners which also work. I love EOS products and when I spotted this shaving cream at a drugstore I wanted to give it a try. This particular one has a pomegranate raspberry scent which smells ah-mazing! I'm usually not a fan of cream products but this one I love. It's very moisturizing and I love that it leaves my skin smooth and soft to touch. Bonus: It's paraben-free! I will definitely be repurchasing!

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

3 Minute Miracle is a great deep conditioner and especially coming from the drugstore it's pretty darn good! I don't use it after every shampoo, perhaps once every two weeks or whenever I feel like my hair needs a little pick-me-up. It leaves hair totally smooth, untangled and soft. It also smells like coconuts, yum!

Kérastase Bain Miroir Shampoo - Sample

This was just a little sample from the May Birchbox. Yeah I just got around to using it :) I initially thought it would only last me one shower session but I was wrong. A small amount of this shampoo lathers up quite good. So it took me a few showers to finish it up. It's a great product, has a light scent and leaves hair squeaky clean. I just don't know if I'd want to pay $30+ for a shampoo.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! ♥

What products have you finished this month?

  4. I agree with you on Lush's Ocean Salt.. It's not something I'd re-purchase as well..

This month I'm almost done with my Liz Earle Cleanser.. Not gonna repurchase it.. It's nice but just not worth all that shipping money..

  5. I'm so glad you did this post, because I have a question (that might sound daft!) that maybe you can answer for me. How do you use the EOS shave cream? I love the scent, and I want to use my bottle, but the two/three times I've used it, it just clogged my razor horribly. Is there a trick to it? Also, I looove body scrubs in the summer. I'm pretty much addicted to any kind of scrub anyways, really - have you tried Lush's Dark Angels cleanser before? I looove that stuff!

  7. Oh I recently tried the EOS shave cream and I really like the plastic packaging so it doesn't rust like other bottles.
I will definitely have to try out the 3 minute aussie miracle. My current new hair product is Garnier sleek & shine no frizz serum (argan oil & apricot). It smells really good.

  8. I love body scrubs. One of my faves is the regular old St. Ives Apricot Scrub. And that EOS shave cream? LOVE! I use the lavender jasmine one, the smell is amazing...

  9. I also use conditioner to shave my legs. I find that the cheap stuff works the best b/c it's not as thick and creamy. My favorite kind to use is the VO5 one from the $1 store :)

  14. I just got my new eos shaving cream at Walgreens which was on sale for $2.99 I think, it also comes with a free razor :) A lot of people seem to complain about how the lip balms dry out their lips, I love the red one it's been nothing but moisturizing for me! I guess yet another product to show us just because something is expensive doesn't mean it works huh? :)

  15. Haha that's great do you use a hair conditioner too?? :D Definitely not worth it, I mean what does it do that other scrubs don't? I don't see it.

  16. So many people seem to love it though, wish I could see what they're talking about! Maybe they "like" it because it's popular? Who knows! Never tried anything from Liz Earle but I hear a lot about it, oh I hate paying shipping for anything can't blame you.

  17. Uhhhhhh. I just use my body wash LOL!!

  18. So sorry for the late reply, yep cream products seem to clog razors. It also depends on the type of razor you use I think. When I use men's razors just running it under the water seems to clean it up. With women's razors I just tap a lot to get the "gunk" out. 99% of the time I buy men's razors because they really are noticeably better. I love body scrubs too, it's a whole another addiction :) Nope I haven't but I will definitely check it out next time I'm at Lush *makes a mental note* Thanks for the suggestion Jessica :)

  20. That's a good way to look at it, I hate rusty bottles! Argan oil & apricot sounds so good, I will have to give it a whiff in my next drugstore shopping trip :)

  21. Me too :) I don't think I've ever tried a St. Ives body scrubs, I do love their green tea facial scrub though :) That's funny because I was just at the drugstore few days ago and I couldn't decide between the jasmine and vanilla, ended up with the vanilla one but will try jasmine when I finish this :)

  22. Yay glad I'm not alone in this :) Will give it a try, I mean for a $1 why not! :)

  23. Me too and doing these posts definitely helps me finish products faster because at the end of the month I need to have finished products to be able to do this post :)

  24. It didn't really make my hair harsh or dry but then again I only used it about 5 times since it was just a sample. I can't really give you any advice about hair loss because I don't know anything about it but you may want to go to a dermatologist if it's severe as it may be a symptom of a more serious condition. Hope you're able to find out the cause and can find a treatment for it.
