My affair with Évasion started a while back when I first spotted it in a Youtube video. Unfortunately I would have to wait until April 6,2011 to make it mine. When April 6 rolled around, I rushed to the nearest Chanel counter and ta da! Why has it taken me 2 months to blog about it...honestly I don't know!
Évasion is already one of my go-to lipsticks now that the weather is warmer. I just prefer to wear lighter textures on my face in summer so I don't feel like my make-up is melting off of my face throughout the day. I'm glad to have added this perfect little summer lipstick to my collection :)
If you are not fond of sheer lipsticks and finishes then I don't recommend the Rouge Coco Shines for you. However, for a being a sheer product Evasion has a decent amount of pigmentation. I would describe this shade as light coral with a hint of light pink. It applies very smoothly and has a creamy texture. I love the weightless feeling of this lipstick on my lips. I truly believe sheer lipsticks are great for hot and humid summer days! Compared with Dior Addict lipsticks, I would say Coco Shines leave lips shinier. I also think Coco Shines last a bit longer on lips than Addicts. Do I even need to say anything about the gorgeous gold and black packaging? Ahhhh...
There are two things I am not crazy about; one being its grandma lipstick scent (I love my grandma and most of her lipsticks just smell like this) and the other being its bitter-ish taste. It's not an overpowering scent by any means, it just smells a bit old. They are not a huge deal because I do love the color, but I wanted to point it out as I know there are people out there who just cannot stand the scent I described above. I will definitely be checking out more shades from the Rouge Coco Shine collection, Boy seems gorgeous! :) These lipsticks retail for $32 a pop at various department stores in addition to Chanel's website.
Sheer lipsticks...yay or nay? Do you own this lipstick or any other shades from Rouge Coco Shine?

I promise I'm not talking on the phone with my lipstick, I just didn't know what to do with my hand :)) |

I love Sheer lipsticks! I love the shade, it suits you! Only if it wasnt that pricey. Love it otherwise. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG this is divine on you love!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous shade and it suits you so well.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love how you went into detail about the lipstick and the brand; thank you!
I've been seeing these lovely lipsticks on many blogs... I need them in my life. lol :)
Oh my goodness that shade looks amazing on you!!!

Ok, that's it! I NEED Evasion now...thanks a lot, Ebru! JK, it looks gorgeous on you! Your skin looks amazing, by the way :)
ReplyDeletevery pretty,love this on you!
ReplyDeleteI say "yay" to sheer lipsticks! I've had my eye on this color...since you mentioned it and also I think Nic of Pixiwoo used it in one of her vids. It looks stunnnning on you, you are such a beauty :) I originally went to the Chanel counter to try on the infamous Boy shade, but Evasion stole my heart. I'm gonna have to go for it eventually, especially now actually seeing it on you!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely on your lips, and while I do like sheer colors this seems as if it would disappear completely on my lips. I don't mind that smell (it's nostalgic!) so I may check out some other colors of this.
ReplyDeleteI never gave that shade a second look.. But lookin at it now it looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty on you! I like the look of sheer lipsticks, especially during the warmer months, but I have a hard time laying down a lot of money for one. In my mind, if I'm going to pay a lot for a lipstick, it had better be fairly pigmented. Otherwise I feel like I can put on one of my cheaper lipglosses and get a similar effect. However, I love all of the Rouge Coco Shines that I've seen lately so I might have to treat myself to just one.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures :D
ReplyDeleteAlla moda e con stile
This is a stunning shade on you! Love it! I tried Evasion and something in the formula wreaked some serious havoc on my lips. I returned it for Boy. But I did LOVE the color of it, just wish it didn't hurt so good...lol.
ReplyDeleteI have just bought this and love it too! It really suits your skintone
ReplyDeleteAh! I remember that. It was so unusual because Boy works on you if I remember. It is a bummer because this shade is so beautiful on Ebru ... but your experience makes me nervous because I have such sensitive skin!

Creepyyyy! *runs* Thanks doll :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I love the formula!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteMe too, funny I used to think nothing of them at one point! I know they're expensive, I wish I could buy them on a regular basis, they'd all be mine by now!
ReplyDeleteThanks gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, glad you liked the post :) Seeing your FOTD with Vegas Volt the other day makes me think this color would look stunning on you as well, you should give it a try :)
ReplyDeleteLOL your welcome :) Can't wait til you get it, you will love it believe me! Thanks hun, funny because I've been so bad with properly cleaning it too lol
ReplyDeleteThat's it, that's where I've seen Evasion first! Now I remember :) Boy looks so pretty after all the swatches I've seen but when I went to the Chanel counter that day my mind was set on Evasion so it didn't even look that pretty to me then. But now I want it too :) Can't wait to see your FOTD with Evasion!
ReplyDeleteI initially thought the same thing but they don't, surprisingly and while they're marketed as sheer lipsticks they are quite pigmented. Glad there is someone that likes the smell, you're right it is nostalgic :)
ReplyDeleteI think it may be because it looks kind of boring in the tube or even on swatches really. But once you wear it, it's a whole another story ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I totally know what you mean, I used to think that way also. And I agree with the price factor. That's why I slowed down with buying everything I see (and believe me I used to go a bit crazy!) and save my money for a luxurious item or buy it as a celebratory gift, as treats :)
ReplyDeleteThank you ;)
ReplyDeleteAhhh really?? I wonder what it was! Boy is gorgeous too though. I want to pick it up at, eventually :)
ReplyDeleteThanks love, you better ease into it if there is anything as easing into a lipstick...or at least wait til after the wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteYay glad you love it too, thanks! ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely stunning on you! Everything about it from the lovely natural shade to the shiny texture screams "luxurious" imo!!! Great purchase!! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Ms. Tina :) Yes yes and yes this whole line = luxury :))
ReplyDeleteJust bought the evasion as well... love that moisturising effect and the light sheer gloss... Are you using a kind of base beneath it or the lipliner..?
