Back in March, I have done a "Too Much Hype" post in which I've discussed my opinions about some of the overly hyped products that many of us own. A few people suggested I do a post about those products that I think deserve the hype as well, I thought it was a great idea. So here I am, four months later, with the post those of you requested! :) Obviously my opinions about these products are based on my personal experience. They may or may not work for you. I love them and recommend them to everyone every chance I get because I think they are that great!
NARS Blushes
I cannot think of only one shade that deserves recognition in this post, so I am referring to NARS blushes in general. I think NARS makes the most amazing blushes hands down. There is a great selection of colors, all shades are truly pigmented and make you feel great when you put them on.

Urban Decay Primer Potion
I think this is one of the best makeup inventions, ever. It helps my eye shadows and even eyeliners stay in place all day even in the hottest and most humid climates. Thinking back to the times when this miracle product wasn't invented, oh how I suffered from creasing and how I'd rub it with my finger to smear the crease..it gives me chills! I'm so happy you exist UDPP!

L'oreal Voluminous
Instantly gives me more volume, longer and fuller lashes. I can never go wrong with Voluminous. It's one of my two favorite mascaras, the other being Covergirl Lashblast. I love the curved brush for getting lashes in the hard to reach areas like the inner corner. Definitely HG status!
Too Faced Natural Eye
I can not have enough of Natural Eye, oh but that's nothing new as I talk about it all the time! I love the buttery soft colors, their jaw-dropping pigmentation and the fact that they're super easy to blend. These colors last all day on my semi-oily lids, in fact they do an amazing job lasting in disgustingly humid Chicago summers. I couldn't ask for more. All the shades are versatile enough to use for day and nighttime looks and you can even go from day to night in a snap using it! It's my go-to palette!

Dior Amber Diamond
I've tried many highlighters before and after Amber Diamond. Seriously, I cannot find anything that tops it! No it's not the Dior logo, it's not the packaging, it's the actual product and its power to create a glowy look! I think a lot of high end products are hyped up because...well, they cost a fortune! I've tried many high end products which I regretted buying shortly after believe me! Amber Diamond isn't cheap by any means, but it really brings the whole look together and gives a soft glow to my face :)

MAC 217
If someone asked me which MAC brush they should buy first, 217 would be my answer. It's talked about all the time because it makes blending eye shadows so much easier and fits perfectly in the crease. Over the years, I have noticed how my eye makeup changed, in a good way, thanks to 217. I haven't always blended out my eye shadows simply because I didn't know what I was doing. Looking at old photos, I can see what a big makeup crime I was committing back in the day! Phew, glad those days are over thanks to 217!
Sigma F80
F80 is one of the newer brushes Sigma introduced not too long ago. Regardless there is a huge hype about these new Sigmax brushes. I love all 3 but F80 has a special place in my heart. It creates such a flawless, airbrushed look especially when used with Revlon Photo Ready. If you're thinking about picking up one of the Sigmax brushes, I'd say definitely start out with F80!

What are some products that you think deserve the hype they get?
I LOVE NARS blushes so I definitely think they deserve all that hype. Also, I'm glad to see Amber Diamond appear on here because I *just* caved and purchased it. Also, the F80 is definitely one of my favorite brushes now--can't beat the fact I got it for free also.
ReplyDeleteOMG! this is such a good idea! would u mind if i steal this and do a video on my picks? =]
ReplyDeleteI agree with a lot of your picks, udpp, l'oreal voluminous, too faced natural eye, 217, f80, girl we have so many similar favorites!!
i would also say for me, seche vite and nars sheer glow deserve it too! and the naked palette!
I've resisted getting almost every product on this list because of the hype. I'm finally giving in and getting the Too Faced Natural Eyes, the F80 brush and MAYBE a NARS blush or two. Any suggestions that aren't orgasm? I'm an NC 42 with nearly black eyes and nearly black hair. 8D
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I definitely agree with the NARS blushes, Amber Diamond & 217 brush....those are some must-haves for me too!
ReplyDeleteNARS makes amazing blushes!!! I agree!
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to own almost everything you showcase on your blog. :D Great post; the L'oreal Voluminous
ReplyDeleteMascara and the Sigma F80 are my favourites as well.
Totally agree with NARS blushers! Hmm I'm tempted by Dior Amber Diamond now!
ReplyDeleteI loves my F80.. Been using it heaps lately instead of my fingers to apply foundation.. It's so soft and most importantly does not shed!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks girl! Can you believe that I have not tried Nars blushes? I think I am missing out on how great they really are! I am sure I will pick one up on my next trip to Sephora. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post hun!Now I want the Amber Diamond,Nars blush,Natural eye and the Sigma brush!too much???Huge wishlist I know hahaha
ReplyDeletexxx
maybe f80 will be my first Sigma brush, thanks to you :) Voluminous used to be my fave, but these days I feel like I've been working with faulty tubes :(
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree with the NARS blushes and Too Faced Palette! I hate the Original UDPP though. I prefer Eden UDPP.
ReplyDeleteI'm so tempted to go out and buy my very first Nars blush! I was thinking of Orgasm- but then, it may be dupable? Or not the most unique shade ever? We shall see...
ReplyDeletexx
Great picks! I have yet to get the natural eye palette, but it's on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI soooo want the Sigma F80 brush..great post!x
ReplyDeleteI agree with soo much on here. Nars blushes, Dior Amber, and UDPP are for sure some of my makeup items that I could not part with!
ReplyDeleteYay we have so many faves in common! *high five* You will love Amber Diamond, if you don't you can always send it to me :D
ReplyDeleteOf course!!! :) Ugh I really wanted to love Seche Vite but my nail polish ALWAYS peels like a day (at most) later after putting a coat on :/ It seems to work amazing with Julep nail polishes though, it's been 2 days since I used a Julep polish with Seche Vite on top and no peeling YET! I will definitely try sheer glow one day to see if it lives up to all the hype!
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo exciting! :)) I think Taj Mahal would look gorgeous on NC42, it is orange but looks amazing on! I'd also suggest checking out Torrid, Lovejoy and Sin :) Don't worry I don't like Orgasm either, it's too hyped up and just an average blush in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteThank you, glad to know there are some of you that agree :) Btw you have an amazing blog, love all your FOTDs! ;)
ReplyDeleteYup definitely my favorite brand for blushes! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh uh :) They're great products; funny at first I thought the Sigmax brushes would be blah :)
ReplyDeleteYay for NARS blushes :) Oh Amber Diamond, it's just beautiful (not cheap and a lot of ladies complain about price but lasts forever believe me!)
ReplyDeleteOmg yes, it's incredibly soft...sometimes I get carried away while I'm buffing in my foundation and keep swirling it on my face just to feel the softness haha
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Oh you totally should, their selection of colors can be overwhelming though! lol Play around with them while you're at the store, I hope you can find a color that you love :)
ReplyDeleteYour welcome lady :) Oh uh I hate playing the enabler :p
ReplyDeleteYou'll love it! It's so soft and makes skin look flawless, I heart it so much! I remember when they had a coupon going around months ago, I think it was Black Friday, and we were talking about it. I actually thought you got some of their brushes! hehe That's really strange because I had a super clumpy tube not too long ago but overall my experience with Voluminous has been great so I keep coming back to it.
ReplyDeleteYay! Oh yeah I know how much you love Eden, I have yet to try it! I wonder if it would be too yellow on me though? I will need to try it on in person I guess!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of first time NARS blush buyers go straight to Orgasm because it's just hyped up. Believe me I fell for it too, then ended up giving it to my sister. I think it's too glittery and not really such a unique color in my opinion. Curious to see what you'll end up getting! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly, you'll love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, definitely recommend it if you're looking for a soft, airbrushed finish :)
ReplyDeleteYes same here, they're definitely staples in my collection :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :) I need the 217 now <3
